Biography

Ed Spring retired for his private practice in 2021 – after 47 years with Oseran Hahn P.S. Prior to his retirement, Ed’s practice primarily focused on estate planning and probate, corporate and general business matters, as well as commercial leasing and other real estate matters. Ed was an active member of King County and Washington State Bar Associations, and has lectured on both commercial leasing and estate planning.

Ed was born in Seattle and raised in the Hawthorne Hills area of Seattle, near View Ridge.  After progressing through the Seattle public school system, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in economics from the University of Washington (magna cum laude) and his Juris Doctorate from Boalt School of Law (now Berkeley Law) at the Berkeley campus of the University of California (Order of the Coif). Ed began his legal career as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington and has spent the entire rest of his legal career at Oseran Hahn P.S.  He also was the firm’s Managing Partner for a significant portion of his time with the firm.

A family man, Ed considers himself fortunate to have been married to the love of his life, Fran, for nearly five decades. Together they have two sons who both live with their families in the Seattle area. Ed enjoys playing golf and spending his time spoiling his wonderful grandchildren.
