Ed Spring practiced at Oseran Hahn for 47 years, retiring from private practice in 2021. His work centered on estate planning and probate, corporate and general business matters, and commercial leasing and other real estate.
For a significant stretch of his time at the firm, Ed served as its Managing Partner, and he helped set the standards of careful drafting and plain-spoken counsel the firm still keeps. He was an active member of the King County and Washington State Bar Associations and lectured on both commercial leasing and estate planning.
Born in Seattle and raised in the Hawthorne Hills neighborhood near View Ridge, Ed earned a B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Washington, and his J.D. from Boalt Hall (now Berkeley Law) at the University of California, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He began his career as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and spent the rest of it at Oseran Hahn.
A devoted family man, Ed was married to the love of his life, Fran, for nearly fifty years. They have two sons, who live with their families in the Seattle area, and Ed spends his time playing golf and spoiling his grandchildren.
