Caleb Stewart

Shareholder

Caleb Stewart is a Shareholder at Oseran Hahn who leads the firm’s national church and nonprofit practice, with additional work in civil litigation, estate planning, probate, and business law. He is admitted in California and Washington, with a license pending in Missouri.

Caleb counsels mission-driven organizations and the people who build them. Churches, parachurch ministries, nonprofits, and Christian schools rely on him for governance, employment, risk-management, transactional, and dispute work, and for the plain-spoken counsel that lets a board focus on its mission rather than its paperwork. He brings the same care to his estate-planning, probate, and business clients.

Caleb graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California, with a B.A. in Intercultural Communication, and earned his J.D. with honors from Whittier Law School, where he received several awards for academic achievement. Before joining Oseran Hahn he practiced at a boutique firm in San Juan Capistrano, California, and served as General Counsel at Cedar Park Christian Schools before returning to the Pacific Northwest, where he grew up.

Caleb speaks across the country on the questions that matter to mission-driven organizations, often over his “Coffee with Counsel” gatherings. Away from the firm he spends time with his wife and growing family, coaches his kids in whatever sport is in season, explores the outdoors, and keeps up a comic-book collection he started long before it was cool. The family German Shepherd, Bishop, rounds out the house. He often comes back to a line from Jim Elliot: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.”
