Tom Lofton’s practice centers around estate planning and probate/trust settlement; tax planning; and business formation/succession. His clients include over 2500 families and hundreds of closely held companies in the Pacific Northwest. Tom assists clients with simple to complex estate planning matters, probate avoidance, and developing strategies to reduce income tax, capital gain tax and estate taxes.

Many of his business clients are professionals or clients who have acquired investment real estate. The fastest growing area of his practice involves international clients who have arrived in the US and settled here within the last 5 years.

After attending Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, where he majored in political science and business, Tom enrolled at the University of Oregon School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. Tom is a frequent speaker at numerous venues in Washington and Oregon, including public and private client events. He emphasizes collaboration with accountants, real estate brokers, financial advisors, and insurance professionals.

Tom has a young family and supports numerous charitable causes in the Seattle area, including Children’s Hospital and Boy Scouts. He lives in Mill Creek and enjoys marathoning, hiking and mountain climbing.
